The President made the remarks on Saturday, 18 April 2026, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the upgrading of 255 kilometres of primary roads in Liberia, held at the Bo Waterside Border Post. The event, attended by both President Bio and His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. of Liberia, marked the official launch of a Design, Build, Operate, and Transfer (DBOT) road concession and was described as a defining milestone for regional integration across the Mano River Union and West Africa.
In a speech centred on trade, connectivity, and the free movement of goods and people across borders, President Bio singled out Aminata’s consistent fuel supply as an example of private sector excellence supporting national and regional progress.

Operating from its Cline Town terminal and Kissy storage tanks, and serving customers through its Kerry Town filling station and a growing network of distribution partners, Aminata & Sons supplies Premium 10ppm diesel, gasoline, and other petroleum products to private motorists, SMEs, NGOs, multinationals, and government agencies across Sierra Leone.

Mohammed S. Turay’s life is a powerful story of discipline, faith, and rising against the odds. Born on January 15, 1986, in Lantuo, Nimba County, Liberia, his childhood was disrupted by the Liberian civil war, forcing him into refugee life in Guinea at a very young age. What could have broken him instead built resilience, adaptability, and inner strength.

Even in refugee camps, Mohammed pursued education relentlessly. He attended refugee schools while also enrolling in French institutions, mastering both English and French through senior high school. After the war, he returned to Liberia and completed his secondary education at J.J. Roberts United Methodist High School.

In 2008, he gained admission to Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, graduating with Honors in Economics in 2011. His published thesis on the Economic Implications of the Liberian Civil War reflected academic excellence and deep national consciousness. He later earned an MBA with Super Honors from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2017.

His professional journey began at the very bottom, as a pump attendant at the 12th Street Aminata Filling Station while still in high school. Through discipline, humility, and consistency, he rose to Station Supervisor within two years. Over time, he held multiple leadership roles within the Aminata Group, earning the respected nickname “Mo-Manager.”

In 2020, he was appointed Project Coordinator and CEO of Aminata (Sierra Leone) Limited, tasked with building operations from the ground up. Under his leadership, major petroleum terminals were completed in Freetown, and by 2025, Aminata became the second-largest petroleum importer in Sierra Leone in just one and a half years.

FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE – Aminata & Sons (SL) Limited held its annual end-of-year celebration on December 20, 2025, at the Sakira Lounge in Aberdeen. The event brought together employees and management to mark the close of a successful year and to recognize the hard work of the entire team.

The party, which was themed Hawaiian Party served as a formal opportunity to reflect on the company’s growth and the milestones achieved since its launch in the Sierra Leonean market. Management expressed their sincere thanks to the staff, noting that their dedication was essential in maintaining a reliable fuel supply and building strong relationships with customers nationwide.
